WTS Global Steps into the Future with AI, Accelerated Growth in Key Markets and Handover of Chairmanship Position to the Next Generation
WTS Global just closed its highly renowned annual Global Week 2024 in Chantilly / Paris, bringing together 200 participants from member firms across the globe. This year’s meeting marked a pivotal milestone, showcasing the firm’s readiness to embrace its next phase of transformation and accelerated growth through targeted business development initiatives, the addition of new member firms, strengthened partnerships in key markets as well as a strategic leadership transition in the WTS Global Supervisory Board.
Next to the impressive global growth stories from the past 12 months, and the addition of strong member firms in Australia and Uganda, WTS Global announced the merger of our Dutch and Nordic firms into the Svalner Atlas Group.
CEO and Managing Director Wim Wuyts emphasized the firm’s bold vision for the future to further claim the unique space as the only global tax practice for multinational companies and large international groups – without audit conflict – offering the full tax service portfolio encompassing Tax Advisory, Tax Compliance and Tax Digital / AI solutions.
Magdalena Saja, Managing Director at WTS Global and leading the global Business Development initiatives as well as the firm’s AI strategy, highlighted the international roll-out of the plAIground, the AI platform to make artificial intelligence usable for the tax world. The plAIground is conceived to introduce tax managers to practical use cases in the tax sector. Various AI tools supporting tax departments in their daily work can be controlled directly via the innovative platform.
The WTS Global week in Chantilly concluded with Fritz Esterer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board announcing that, after 15 years of presiding over WTS Global in his role as Chairman, he is handing over his position to Jürgen Scholz. Fritz Esterer will now exclusively focus on the strategic positioning and further growth of WTS Group in Germany, while he will remain a member of the WTS Global Supervisory Board.
WTS Group and WTS Global have both reached a significant size and market power that each organization demands full focus to ensure continued growth and success.
Jürgen Scholz, Managing Director at WTS Group (Germany) has been heavily involved in shaping WTS Global’s success over the past 10 years, both as a Member of the Supervisory Board and as the Global Head of the Indirect Tax Service Line. In addition, Jürgen Scholz is an often-acknowledged industry leader, who only a few weeks ago was recognized as Indirect Tax Leader of the Year by ITR European Tax Awards 2024. He stands out for his innovative and solution driven approaches where the client’s interest is always in the focus of his attention.
